There's not 'mushroom' in this month's newsletter - sorry, couldn't resist! Our newsletter for May is packed full of useful and interesting information about mushrooms in all their gorgeous variety. Have you ever seen strange looking fungi in the supermarket and wondered what they were and what on earth you would do with them - we tell you!
Mushrooms have always been popular and I’m sure you’re pretty familiar with the common or garden buttons, cups and flats - Agaricus bisporus. These are all just different growth stages of the same mushroom variety. What we’ll be looking at are all those specialty varieties that are popping up in our local supermarkets and weekend farmers’ markets and that most of us don’t know what to do with. Think enoki, shiitake, oyster or shimeji!
We also tell you what's new on the Foodwatch website, all about EatKit and our Product of the Month is the Greenstar Apple.
